Dylan Ryan Wellcome’s Career Award
Congratulations to Dylan Ryan who recently secured a prestigious Wellcome Career Development Award valued at around €2.5 million. The 8-year project will focus on uncovering how mitochondrial DNA mutations reshape immune responses and specifically will investigate why people with inherited mitochondrial disorders are particularly vulnerable to severe infections.
Young Academy Ireland welcomes new members
Congratulations to Dr Mary Canavan on being included among the 21 new members of the Young Academy Ireland (YAI) at the Royal Irish Academy last week. Dr Canavan will begin a four-year term, working on initiatives that strengthen research and enrich cultural life across the island of Ireland. We wish Mary well with her future endeavours!
