Professor Ruth Chang came to Trinity for the 2026 Donnellan Lectures, spending three evenings on the nature of hard choices, and closing with a new way of thinking about value in AI design. A two-day conference asked why time seems to run in only one direction. And the Trinity Student Philosophical Review marked its fourth volume, with James Ryan taking the Iris Murdoch Prize for an essay on shame.

As Professor Paul O'Grady notes in his welcome, Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the EU puts the School in an unusually strong position to shape the conversation on Europe's future. Philosophy will do its part this autumn, when Professor Adina Preda takes to the Synge Theatre stage on 1 October with a lecture on human rights and equality.
