The department is delighted to welcome Rowan Mellor as Assistant Professor in Philosophy (Value Theory) this August.
Rowan completed his PhD at University College London in 2021 and has since held postdoctoral fellowships at two leading philosophy departments: the University of Toronto and Northwestern University.
His research focuses on the ethics of group action, exploring how what we collectively ought to do can come apart from what each of us ought to do individually. He also works on joint reasoning, solidarity, and a range of questions in social and political philosophy.
