The Department of Philosophy is delighted to welcome two new Teaching Fellows this August.
Jade Hadley joins Trinity from the University of British Columbia, where she completed her PhD and previously taught. Her research centres on metaphysics, with particular attention to the metaphysics of facts, propositions and truth, alongside early modern philosophy, especially the work of Émilie Du Châtelet. She also has interests in the history of analytic philosophy and the philosophy of language.
Jamie Turner completed a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Birmingham (2022-2025), supervised by Martin Pickup, Sophia Vasalou and Jon Hoover, with funding from the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council. Jaime's research is in the philosophy of religion, approached through ideas from the Islamic tradition, recasting medieval Islamic philosophical concepts in the language of analytic philosophy. Much of this work addresses religious epistemology, including the rationality of theistic belief and the problem of religious disagreement.
