Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, it is expected that students should be able to:
- Acquired a detailed understanding of some of the principal debates and trends in modern political theory.
- Become familiar with the basic concepts of political theory and the problems raised by their application.
- Learned the difference between empirical and normative theory, as well as the interrelationship between the two.
- Developed skill at constructing, analyzing, and critiquing political arguments.
- Applied argumentative skill both in the classroom and in written coursework.
- Reflected upon the implications of political theory for life outside of the classroom.
Module Learning Aims
This module will introduce students to contemporary debates in political theory.
Module Content
Topics to be covered may include important concepts in contemporary political theory such as democracy, equality, justice, and rights.
