Languages Alumni Summer Social - an evening to remember!
To celebrate 250 years of Modern Languages at Trinity College Dublin, the School welcomed our alumni back to campus for a celebratory reception in the Examination Hall on 5 June. It was an evening of words, wit and music.

Clemens Ruthner awarded the Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Art
Germanist Clemens Ruthner was bestowed with the honour by the Austrian Minister of Science and Research for his "academic efforts and achievements in Austrian Studies worldwide" at a ceremony in Vienna on 8 June 2026.

Three Scholars announced on Trinity Monday
On Trinity Monday (20 April 2026), Provost Dr Linda Doyle announced the names of 89 new Scholars from across a range of disciplines. Among these, were three Scholars from the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies.
