This year the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies is marking the 250th anniversary of the establishment of Modern Languages in Trinity College Dublin. To celebrate this historic year, we are delighted to invite our past students to join us on campus for a special evening of connection with your fellow alumni. The evening will feature the talents of some of our creative graduates, and there will be a reception with wine and light refreshments.

Introducing our special guests:

Gemma Cox is a graduate of French and Music (2022). Gemma is an Irish singer-songwriter crafting dreamy alt-pop with piano-led melodies, inspired by Phoebe Bridgers and Regina Spektor. She has performed at Electric Picnic and Other Voices, and last year joined London Grammar on the main stage at All Together Now after they discovered her TikTok cover of “Strong.” Her new song, “What About Now,” arrives this summer.

Michael Fry is a graduate of French and Hispanic Studies (2016). Michael is an Irish stand-up comedian, actor and musician who graduated with a B.A. in in 2016. He is best known for his satirical sketches and musical renditions of viral videos on social media which have garnered him a significant following and led to appearances on radio, television and film in both Ireland and the U.K. Most recently Michael appeared in Dancing with the Stars Ireland (RTÉ) at the start of 2026. Michael has also appeared on TV shows such as Derry Girls (Channel 4), Holding (ITV) and No Worries if Not! (RTÉ).

James Patrice is a graduate of Drama and Theatre Studies and French (2011). James is a presenter and performer, best known for his roving reports on RTÉ’s flagship daytime television show Today and his shimmering behind the scenes antics as Dancing With The Stars’ digital presenter. You can find him entertaining the masses online with his witty observations on Irish life under the guise of his drag alter ego - the ultimate Irish Mammy - Malahide Woman. James has spent the last 8 years as one of the leads in The 3Olympia Theatre’s iconic Christmas pantomime, most recently playing the magical role of ‘Glinda Martin’.
