We bring the best of Irish literature to the world and the best of world literature to readers in Ireland
Welcome to the Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation at Trinity College Dublin. The Centre is part of the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies.
Our mission is to develop, promote and support literary translation in Ireland. We support two main areas of activity: education and outreach.
The Centre is housed in a fine Georgian building facing Merrion Square. Funds raised through our Friends and Patrons programme allow us to continue hosting our public outreach and literary translation events, and to develop our research and residency programmes.

Taiwan-Ireland Poetry Translation 2026
Applications closed in September for our 2026 Taiwan–Ireland Poetry Translation Competition, organised in partnership with the National Museum of Taiwan Literature. The winner(s) will be announced at the end of this year.

The Centre is housed in a historic 18th-century building at 36 Fenian Street, that officially opened in 2016 after an extensive refurbishment project.
