Taking place on Tuesday 27 October in the Martin Naughton E3 Learning Foundry, the conference, Exploring the role of hybrid renewable energy systems in building a more resilient, low-carbon Europe, will showcase the outcomes of three years of applied research carried out through the HY4RES project.
Coordinated by Trinity College Dublin and funded through the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme, HY4RES is a €3.2 million project focused on developing innovative and sustainable hybrid renewable energy systems.
The event will bring together researchers and business leaders from project partners in Ireland, Spain, Portugal and France, alongside stakeholders from the energy, industry, agriculture and community sectors.
The programme will feature presentations, panel discussions and workshop sessions examining the role of hybrid renewable energy systems in supporting resilient and sustainable electricity production. Discussions will explore the current renewable energy landscape at both Irish and European level, and consider how hybrid systems can help respond to the needs of industry and communities.
Attendees will also hear about pilot demonstrations developed through the project in community, port, agriculture and aquaculture settings.
The conference will provide an opportunity for participants to reflect on project findings, exchange ideas and discuss emerging approaches to energy security and low-carbon energy generation. Representatives from other projects focused on hybrid energy technologies will also be in attendance, creating a forum for discussion on future energy solutions across Europe.
