Staff Profile - Additional Content
This content type allows you to add additional information to your staff profile card - such as changing a person's title or adding a photo.
If it's not set up in your site structure - create a section called "staff-additional content" and untick show in navigation on the general tab so that the section does not appear in your menu. When unticked, the folder appears clear in the site structure and the section is hidden from your left menu.
Add the content type " Staff Profile - Additional Content" for each staff member to the content tab. The *username field must match the person's username in Peoplefinder.
Usernames
The username field must be populated with the username from Peoplefinder. This is what links the additional content to the profile card - which ultimately pulls data from Peoplefinder.
You will find the username at the end of the peoplefinder URL, once you click on the person’s name.
Edit additional content
If you already have a folder set up on your site structure, click on the folder name staff-additional content - use the filter field to find the person by their name or username.
Click on the name to open the content item - edit the required field and click save and approve when ready to publish.
Add a new Staff Profile - Additional Content item
To add a new staff member - click add content – search for staff profile - additional content – fill in the name and username.
- The username must be the official TCD username – see above on how to find this. (It normally forms the first part of a staff member’s email address but some may have changed it to a vanity email address).
- Fill in Heading field if you need to change the job title which appears in Peoplefinder. (not mandatory)
- Fill in card description for a small bio to appear on the person’s profile card. (not mandatory)
- Staff image – click on select media – to upload a headshot for the card.
- Ordering - choose the order number you would like the card to appear on the page.
Change the order of a profile card
In the *Ordering field - give the "staff profile - additional content" item the order number you would like the card to appear on the page. Profile cards display in threes from left to right.
If you have 10 profile cards - you will need to order each content item from 1-10. The first row will be numbered 1-3.
If you number some items and leave others blank, they will not reorder correctly.
You can skip numbers if you want to leave room for items you may add in the future, without having to reorder all items. Example: order the first row 1,3,5.
Profle image
Best practice is to resize the profile image and add it to your media folder first. You can also upload an image and use variants to crop it. The recommended size can be found in the Image size guide (PDF, 2MB).
