Introduction
The Centre for Academic Practice prioritises the use of next-generation teaching and learning practices within Trinity by facilitating academics to embed digital practices into their teaching, learning and assessment strategies. Digital technologies can enhance and enrich teaching, learning and assessment across the disciplines. Digital approaches can also enable flexibility — responding to changes in student demographics and expectations. In an increasingly digitised society, it is also important that our students should be equipped with the digital literacies that they will need for work, learning and life.
In order to embed digital teaching, learning and assessment approaches successfully into curricula, it is imperative that educators are competent in integrating and utilising relevant digital technologies and pedagogies. The resources in this section support these elements by providing information and guidance on key areas of programme and module design to be considered when using digital technologies to enhance and support student learning.
The pages below begin with an introduction to help academics understand the context for Digital Teaching & Learning in Trinity. This is followed by details of how you can structure and design your Blackboard module to create a solid foundation for Digital Learning. The section then provides some best practices for designing digital learning before giving some practical tips for creating material. The section closes with some advice for engaging students in the online environment before providing an overview of the different digital learning technologies available in Trinity.
