Welcome to the Centre for Academic Practice's Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Hub. This hub is for staff who wish to learn more about how to embed UDL principles into their teaching practice and programme design.

The resources on these pages provide an introductory overview of UDL — for staff looking to explore this area in more detail, please visit our UDL Professional Development page for information on our current and upcoming modules and events.

  • Many of the resources shared here were developed collaboratively by colleagues on the Trinity Inclusive Curriculum Project - Trinity-INC (2020-24).
  • The Universal Design for Learning framework used on this site is from the Center for Applied Special Technology's (CAST) Universal Design for Learning Guidelines (version 3.0).

  • Some explanatory text relating to UDL is adapted from the Universal Design in Teaching and Learning course on the Open Courses platform under a Creative Commons BY-NC 4.0 licence.

  • The cartoon images used on this hub are licenced to the Centre for Academic Practice from Adobe Stock (primarily from Molibdenis-Studio) and edited for use on these pages. If you would like to use these images in your own work, you will need to purchase a licence for them from Adobe Stock.
