Projects

  • Title
    • A pilot study to characterise resident memory T cells in the skin of hidradenitis suppurativa patients
  • Summary
    • The purpose of this study is to carry out a detailed phenotypical analysis of resident memory T cells in uninvolved and lesional HS skin using state of the art flow cytometry, in order to better understand HS pathogenesis. This study will serve as a pilot study to leverage further funding.
  • Funding Agency
    • British Skin Foundation
  • Date From
    • 1st October 2019
  • Date To
    • 30th September 2020
  • Summary
    • Composition of innate lymphoid cell subsets in skin and blood of patients with hidradenitis suppurative and correlation with disease severity and response to treatment
  • Funding Agency
    • The city of Dublin skin and cancer hospital charity
  • Date From
    • 1st July 2019
  • Date To
    • 30th June 2020
  • Title
    • Targeting dysregulated bioenergetics in the inflamed rheumatoid arthritis joint
  • Summary
    • This project aims to: 1.Identify the bioenergetics profile of cells from the joints of RA patients and to correlate the presence of glycolytic markers with disease activity and response to treatment; 2. Determine the role of hypoxia in promoting glycolysis and inflammation in synovial T cells and fibroblasts and 3. Assess the therapeutic potential of compounds targeting glycolysis in RA.
