Research Expertise
Description
The design and synthesis of novel chiral organocatalysts (and immobilised versions thereof) for asymmetric transformations. Asymmetric bifunctional organocatalysis. Synthesis of novel cyclin-dependant kinase (CDK) inhibitors. Design of novel tetracycline derivatives to combat bacterial resistance. Novel synthetic methodology, including the scope expansion of several important carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions such as the asymmetric Baylis-Hillman reaction and ketone trifluoromethylation. The design of novel fast initiating olefin metathesis catalysts.Recognition
