Research Fellow Hailemariam Ayalew Tiruneh

Hailemariam Ayalew Tiruneh is a Postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Economics, Trinity College Dublin. His research is in the microeconomics of development with a focus on household behavior. He is engaged in different Randomized Control Trial (RCT) research projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. He is currently examining the impact of providing site-specific fertilizer recommendations on different outcome variables such as adoption rate, farm productivity, labor supply, and resource misallocation using RCT in rural Ethiopia. I am also working on some field experiment projects in the country.
Haile completed a PhD in 2016 and MSc. in 2013 degrees in Economics from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He obtained the second MSc. degree in Economics from Addis Ababa University in 2010. In 2015, he was a visiting scholar and research fellow at the East African Social Science Transition (EASST) at the University of California in Berkeley. He worked as a lecturer at Debre Markos University in Ethiopia and a Short term consultant at the World Bank.
