The Neureka Project

Neureka is a free non-profit smartphone app for dementia and mental health research.

Dementia affects 50 million people worldwide, a number set to grow larger as populations age. Neureka has three gamified cognitive tasks designed to improve our ability to predict the early warning signs of cognitive decline.

Join Neureka Research Scientist, Sean Kelley, for a demo to find out more about the Neureka app!

Participants will be able to download Neureka during or before the event using the link provided below. We’ll begin with a quiz designed to test your knowledge of lifestyle and medical conditions that are more likely to result in dementia. By reducing these risk factors, we could potentially prevent up to 40% of dementia cases. Afterwards, there will be a description of Neureka’s three cognitive games to designed to understand mental flexibility (Star Racer), decision making (Cannon Blast), and memory (Memory Match). Participants are welcome and encouraged to play along with the games during the presentation. We’ll conclude by answering any questions you may have about Neureka, dementia, or mental health. The event will last approximately 30 minutes.
