Could you describe your research using just six words?

"I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead" - Mark Twain

In late 2018, we posed a challenge to researchers on Twitter: could you describe your research using just six words? The extreme word limit created several challenges for people because it forced them to think about a number of things, including what we consider to be the most important aspects of our work, how we prioritise it, how it is packaged and presented, and how we want our work to be seen. As anyone who has ever struggled to write a short abstract or summary will know, it can often be easier to write 1,000 words than 100, but our question prompted a flood of responses! Some of those six word research stories are gathered in this booklet. We hope they inspire you to share your research story!
