The Purpose of the Role:
The School of Psychology is seeking an experienced and strategically minded Global Development Officer to lead the development and delivery of its integrated international student recruitment, alumni relations and development initiatives. This role requires a collaborative and forward thinking professional with a proven record of enhancing institutional reputation, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and generating meaningful engagement across diverse audiences.
The successful candidate will play a central role in advancing key School priorities, including:
• Raising the visibility and impact of the School’s research, teaching, and public
engagement activities
• Strengthening relationships with the School’s global alumni community (approx. 5,000
graduates)
• Enhancing student recruitment across undergraduate, postgraduate, and CPD
programmes
• Ensuring consistent, high-quality communications across the School’s academic
programmes
The Global Development Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that:
• Elevate the School’s national and international profile
• Support staff in promoting research, scholarship, and public policy impact
• Foster strong and sustained engagement with alumni and other stakeholders
• Enhance the effectiveness of student recruitment efforts through targeted
communications, marketing, and digital outreach
• Strengthen internal communications and improve audience experience across digital
platforms
The role requires a strategic, skilled, and adaptable professional capable of managing multiple complex projects, providing leadership to a cross-programme team, and delivering measurable outcomes in a dynamic academic environment. The Global Development Officer will be supportive of academic staff and will complement the School’s mission to deliver excellence in teaching and research. The appointee will facilitate the interactions between all aspects of the Office for Global Relations and the School, with the target of assisting the School with the recruitment of non-EU students, international student engagement, as well as leading on Alumni development and engagement. The post holder will be based in the school officer and will report to School Manager.
