Congratulations to 4th Year Pharmacy student Ciara McConnell, who has won this year's Irish Epilepsy League Student Essay and Poetry Competition. Ciara's beautiful poem, The Fault Beneath The Field, captures the experience of living with an illness.
On receiving the award earlier this month, Ciara said she hoped to convey that, "no matter how draining or overwhelming a diagnosis may feel, the possibility of hope, purpose and renewal remains." She added, "It is a tremendous honour to have my work recognised, particularly in the company of those whose professional lives are devoted to understanding and improving the lives of people affected by epilepsy."
