We are delighted to share that Dr Syed Ahmed Shah has been awarded CHARM-EU Research Seed Funding for his project: Stimuli-Responsive Biomimetic Nanohydrogel Platform for Chemotherapy of Brain Tumours.
The project focuses on developing a new collaborative research approach to addressing challenges in cancer treatment, with particular emphasis on improving the delivery and effectiveness of therapeutic strategies for glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. The aim is to develop innovative biomaterial-based approaches that could ultimately contribute to safer and more effective treatments for patients.
As part of the project, Ahmed will undertake research visits to CHARM-EU partner universities in Europe, including the Universitat de Barcelona in Spain and Åbo Akademi University in Finland. These visits will allow him to closely with international collaborators, exchange expertise, and develop the research concept further through complementary facilities and expertise. An important objective is also to strengthen the collaboration and establish a foundation for future joint research and larger collaborative grant applications.
