Welcome Prospective Students

A very warm welcome to the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Trinity College Dublin. We are delighted that you have chosen to study with us, and we are looking forward to training the next generation of students to advance healthcare in Ireland and across the world.

There are a range of supports throughout Trinity, as well as plenty of opportunities to meet people through Clubs, Sports, Societies, and the Student’s Union. Our School is more than happy to help you find your way around, so please let us know if there is anything we can help you with.

We also have opportunities for students to do research abroad with our Erasmus+ programme, which is a wonderful way to spend some time other countries, while making new friends and doing research at the same time. 

We are very proud that our School is ranked 28th in the world and is Ireland’s leading School of Pharmacy. The year 2027 marks the 50th anniversary of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and over the past three decades, we have educated generations of community pharmacists, hospital pharmacists, pharmaceutical industry leaders and pharmacists in other role-emerging positions. For our 50th year celebrations, we are very much looking forward to sharing some of their stories with you – and please let us know if you come across anything you would like to share too!

For the coming year, I would like to wish you all the very best with your studies. Central to our values is patient and community care, and our mission is to equip our students with the clinical and practical expertise to achieve this. Our strong partnerships with hospitals, community pharmacies, national and international research centres and institutes, and pharmaceutical companies ensure that students gain the real-world skills that are essential for their careers.

In particular, we are thrilled to announce the arrival of the new Research Centre, Rinn Advanced Therapies, to the School, which will develop personalised cellular immunotherapies for patients, making a positive and lasting change to healthcare in our society. This is why we encourage everyone to reach their potential and share their knowledge at home and abroad, in particular with the communities we endeavour to serve.
