If you’ve ever had a brilliant creative idea or you simply love putting your creative skills to work, you’ve probably asked yourself more often than not: How could I actually make this a viable commercial venture? That’s where the Postgraduate Certificate in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship steps in.
An inspiring, practice-driven course, it’s designed to equip you with the mindset and tools to thrive in today’s dynamic creative economy. As course facilitator, Jeanne le Corre, explains “the course is structured to take you from a raw spark of inspiration to a fully realised launch strategy in 3 practical and immersive stages”.
From Spark to Strategy
Here’s a quick introduction to the course modules:
Module 1, Innovation & Creativity, explore frameworks for problem solving and idea generation. This module is highly collaborative and changes how you view the world. It’s where the Spark ignites!
Module 2, Creative & Cultural Entrepreneurship is where we dive into the business essentials: budgeting, marketing, and intellectual property. We bring in incredibly diverse expert contributors to guide you step-by-step.
Module 3, Career Pathways, focuses on leadership, branding, and the changing nature of work. The program culminates in a supportive 60-second pitching showcase in front of classmate-judges and industry experts.
Who is this Course For? (Hint: It’s Not Just for Artists)
One of the biggest misconceptions about "creative" entrepreneurship is that it only applies to traditional artists or designers.
"When we use the word creative, we mean it in the broadest sense," Jeanne explains. "You can be creative when you're writing a screenplay, but you are also creative when you're coding as an engineer, building marketing campaigns, or developing a drama facilitation workshop. We welcome actors, fashion designers, calligraphers, civil engineers, marketers, and everything in between."
Jeanne also explains that you don’t have to come with an idea either:. “Don’t let the lack of an existing business idea stop you from applying. Finding and refining your project is actually built directly into the learning experience."
A New Path: Skills, Mentoring, and the Confidence to Move Forward
Returning to education as a mature student can sometimes be a juggling act. This part-time programme is designed to be as flexible and accommodating as possible:
- Approximately 6 hours of classes per week.
- A hybrid blend of roughly 60% face-to-face and 40% online learning.
- Capped at 40 places to ensure high-quality group work and personal mentoring so you don’t ever feel lost or overwhelmed.
Ultimately, this programme is designed to build a launchpad for your long-term success.
"At the end of the day, this course is about much more than business frameworks. It’s about setting you on a completely new path," Jeanne says. "You will leave here equipped with practical skills, robust tools, and a powerful network of peers and mentors who have your back. It’s about building the deep confidence to step out of your comfort zone, own your value, and realise what you’re truly capable of. We provide the safety net, the expert mentoring, and the collaborative community; you bring the willingness to try. It's a transformative journey, and we can't wait to see where it takes you."
