A huge thank you to the TCD Dental Society students for bringing smiles, fun and oral health education to The Teddy Bear Hospital in aid of BUMBLEance last weekend.

The annual event, which is student-led and run by the Trinity College Dublin Children’s Wellness Society (previously known as TCD Paediatric Society), is always a fantastic opportunity for young children to find out what happens in different healthcare departments throughout the college, including dental science, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and physical and occupational therapy.

Held over two days, all of the Dublin Dental University Hospital students did a marvellous job in encouraging children to learn about proper oral hygiene techniques, understand the responsibilities of the dental team, and reducing dental phobia. The dental table was filled with educational diagrams, toy typodonts, (many, many) stickers, teddies, and of course friendly smiles!

Toothbrushes, stickers, drawstring bags, informational pamphlets, TePe brushes, pencils, and hourglass sand toothbrushing timers were generously donated by Dental Health Foundation Ireland, the TePe team at Ocean Healthcare, and Henry Schein Ireland.

A very special thank you to TCD Children’s Wellness Society for arranging such a wonderful event!
