The Sustainability Leadership Awards began in 2023 as a way to acknowledge staff and students for their dedication to sustainability and leadership roles in education, research, operations and in their community.

In 2026, we saw another record number of nominations for the awards; over 150 staff and students were put forward for the honour.
Nominations for the Sustainability Leadership Awards begin in early February and are open to staff, students and alumni from all backgrounds.
The ceremony is held during Green Week, opened by Provost Linda Doyle along with VP Jane Stout and Sustainability Manager Jane Hackett. Past winners and nominators are all invited to the event to celebrate with the winners and enjoy refreshments before and after.
