The PhD project is funded by the a Provost's PhD Project Award.

We have a fully funded 4-year PhD position available in the Functional Genomics of Gram-negative Pathogens research group (PI: Asst. Prof Carsten Kröger). The PhD project is funded by the Provost's PhD Project Awards and t he annual stipend is €17,316 p/a for four years.

Entry requirement: Degree in microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or similar (at least 2.1 or equivalent). An MSc degree is beneficial, but not required. The fellowship is only available to EU students.

The Kröger lab (https://www.tcd.ie/Microbiology/research/carsten-kroger/) is a growing research lab with currently 1 Postdoc and 3 PhD students. The PhD student will investigate genetic regulation of antimicrobial resistance in the WHO priority pathogen Acinetobacter baumannii.
