Postgraduate Orientation Week will take place 07 - 11 September 2026.

This timetable is subject to change so please check it regularly
You must attend one General Orientation session during the week, and you can then build your orientation timetable from other available events to suit you. N.B. Monday's General Orientation session is typically the busiest. You may prefer to attend a session later in the week, as the content is the same.
Orientation events will be hybrid, so you may attend in person or watch them live online.
Links to the online sessions will be available on this page prior to Orientation. Links to book campus tours and social events will be available from 12:00 noon on Monday 31 August.

ID Card Collection
Once you are registered as a Trinity student you are eligible for a student ID card (TCard). To avail of a TCard, you need to log in to the TCard Portal using your Trinity username and password (not your student ID number, application number, or email address) and follow the instructions to upload a photo.
Those of you joining us prior to September 2026 should visit the Academic Registry to collect your TCard. If you are a September entrant, you will collect your TCard from the Orientation Hub in the Exam Hall in Front Square.
Orientation Hub
The Orientation Hub will be open in the Exam Hall every day during Orientation Week from 10am-3pm.
As well as being the place to collect your student ID Card, the Orientation Hub will also have a range of services on site to help you get set up and ready for your first week. So, if you have questions for the Academic Registry, IT Services, the disAbility Service, Student Counselling, or other areas, pop in to the Hub and ask!
Sensory friendly ID card collection will be available from 4pm-5pm each day.
N.B. The Hub will be particularly busy on Monday 7th September, and you may experience a long wait to collect your TCard. We recommend collecting your card later in the week, as you will not need it to participate in any Orientation events.
Garda Vetting
Some courses require students to complete the Garda Vetting process before they will be able to register. You can see the list on the Garda Vetting page. If it is required, download the forms and follow the guidelines carefully.
Health Screening
Some courses require students to complete TCD health screening requirements. Failure to do so may result in you being withdrawn from your course and a re-admission fee will apply.
