Summary: This research focuses on groundwater and biogeochemical dynamics, examining how groundwater–surface water interactions influence carbon and nutrient fluxes across aquatic environments. My research combines field observations, isotope tracers, laboratory analyses, and modelling in Ireland and internationally to investigate groundwater discharge, solute transport, and greenhouse gas exchange. Understanding these hidden subsurface pathways is important for improving water quality management, ecosystem protection, and climate adaptation.
