Environmental monitoring and protection

Research in this theme focuses on understanding environmental change through the study of air, water, land, and ecosystems. It includes environmental monitoring, contaminant pathways, water supply, greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, and the recovery and protection of ecosystem health. The Centre also supports analytical and field-based research through specialist laboratories and monitoring equipment.

Examples of projects:

  • DRYPEAT (Deuterium-excess reconstruction to yield peatland evaporation, aridity, and transpiration).
  • Hydrogeochemistry.
