About Us
The Trinity Centre for the Environment is housed in the Old Anatomy Building ,which has been refurbished to provide a range of new offices and laboratories. It is situated next to the Zoology Building. Accommodation includes a large central laboratory, several smaller ancillary laboratories, and office space for technical staff, post-doctoral researchers, and PhD students.
Originally established in 1979 as the Environmental Sciences Unit, the Trinity Centre for the Environment facilitates interdisciplinary research and teaching in all aspects of the environment, including that of the causes and impacts of climate change.
Facilities include analytical laboratories equipped to analyse a wide variety of ecological and environmental materials, and a suite of UAVs with specialised detectors to support the collection of high-spatial resolution field data.
We also have a close liaison Trinity College Botanic Garden at Dartry and other centres and disciplines in the university.
All researchers in the Centre have access to university libraries and technical resources within the School of Natural Sciences.
