We are pleased to announce that as part of funding received from The Healthy and Positive Ageing Initiative (HaPAI), we plan to organise and run a 1-symposium, to be held in the Spring of 2023. The purpose of the symposium will be to showcase the key outcomes and outputs from our project: Supporting Equity of Older People by Redefining and Refining Assessment of Dementia Inclusive Design of Hospital Spaces.
This symposium will also provide the opportunity to contextualise these project outputs within TrinityHaus’ wider research into the area of age-attuned design across the lifespan. Linking it with our precursor work in this area:
- Dementia-Friendly Hospital Audit Tool
- Dementia-friendly Hospital Guidelines from a Universal Design Approach (Funded by the HRB)
- MOOC on Dementia Inclusive Hospital Design (Recently completed, funded by EIT)
We envision the delivery of a 1-day programme, held both in person and online (hybrid event), that will bring together a variety of stakeholders, both national and international. The symposium will allow us to share our work through the HaPAI project, and to further stress its importance and impact, within the context of our continued work in this area.
