Trinity Visa and Immigration InformationRegistering Your Immigration Permission
Within 90 days after arriving in Ireland, all non-EU/EEA/Swiss/UK international students must register with the Irish Immigration Service Delivery (ISD).
First-time registration must be completed in person at the Burgh Quay Office (D02 XK70).
In order to book a first-time immigration appointment, you MUST:
- have arrived in Ireland
- have completed your Trinity student registration
- have started your course
- be able to provide all necessary documentation
The documents you require are:
- Your current valid passport, including its biometric information page
- The landing stamp in your passport showing that you entered Ireland to study
- A Trinity enrolment letter dated on or after your course commencement date, confirming your enrolment on a full-time eligible programme
- Proof that you have paid the required university fees
- Proof of your address in Ireland
- Private medical insurance, or eligible travel insurance with medical cover, valid for 12 months or for the full duration of your stay if this is shorter. You must bring the original policy document in your name. It must include cover for accidents, medical incidents and hospital stays, with the relevant dates clearly shown
- Proof of scholarship funding (if applicable)
If you attend an appointment without the correct evidence or before your course has commenced, your registration will not be completed. ISD will not provide a return appointment. You will need to arrange a new appointment yourself through the ISD Customer Service Portal, which may substantially delay your immigration registration.
Once you are ready to book your immigration registration appointment, please visit the Irish Immigration website.
