Congratulations to MAI graduates Alison Clarke, Eoin Oude Essink and Patrick Sullivan for presenting their final year project work at the

14th International Conference on Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics (HEFAT 2019)

22-24 July 2019 in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow.

Alison presented her work on experimental characterisation and analytical modelling of mini heat pipes for energy harvesting applications in wireless sensors, in collaboration with Analog Devices [1]. Eoin presented his numerical work on microscale heat transfer modulation for data centre server CPU cooling using movable structures [2]. Patrick presented his experimental work on droplet boiling on a superheated liquid infused surface, in collaboration with Nokia Bell Labs [3]. MME PhD student Parth Kumavat also gave an oral presentation of his work on heat transfer enhancement in a minichannel by pulsating flow.

Congratulations to Alison Clarke and Patrick Sullivan for winning Outstanding Paper Awards in their poster sessions.
