The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies offers language and culture classes throughout the academic year, in the following languages:
Short Courses Details
Registration and enrolment information is available on each individual course webpage, as some courses may open for enrolment earlier than others. All courses are offered subject to minimum registration numbers.
Course Duration and Schedule
Each course runs for a total of 22 weeks (a 2 hour class once per week) spread over two terms – Autumn (commencing in late September) and Winter/Spring (commencing in January).
Exact schedules for each level are available from the individual course webpages. Due to other events in the College, there will be a longer break in December.
The specific day of your class will be determined by your course language and level and this information will be noted on each course webpage.
Class dates/times are subject to minor changes in rare circumstances and students will be given the maximum notice possible if this unlikely situation arises.
Time and Venue
All classes will take place in the evening on Trinity College’s campus in Dublin city centre.
Learners will receive dates, times and venue information closer to the course commencement date.
Course fee
The fee is €660 for the 22-week course, 2 hours/once a week with scheduled break weeks.
This fee is non-refundable once the course has commenced.
All courses are offered subject to minimum and maximum registration numbers. In the event of a full course cancellation due to an insufficient number of applicants or another reason, fees will be refunded in full.
Registration and Payment
You may pay by credit/debit card online after enrolment opens for the course in which you wish to enrol.
Payments should be made securely via PayPal. We are not yet accepting registrations for the 2025-26 short courses.
Once your payment is received, you will subsequently receive a confirmation email from the School’s Short Courses Administrator, with instructions to finalise your registration. Please complete the application form sent via email as this process ensures your name is added to the class list. Otherwise, you may miss important updates.
The final date for registration is Monday, 22 September 2025.
You are not formally registered in any course until you have completed payment for the course in full, have completed and submitted the application form on time once received, and have received written confirmation of your active registration from the School's Short Courses Administrator.
Please note: Owing to staff annual leave during the summer period, you may experience some delay in receiving the full application form if you pay the course fee between late July to mid-August. Please be assured that payments will be processed and course places allocated in the order they are received.
