A huge Congratulations to Kevin O'Leary (Discipline of Geography) who was named co-winner of the 2025 Mary Mulvihill Award - Science Media Competition earlier this week.
The Award named to celebrate the legacy of science journalist Mary Mulvihill was given to winners at a ceremony hosted by the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies earlier this week. It is the first time in the competition’s nine-year history that there have been joint winners.
Kevin's submission entitled 'Cascade – A Game for Saving Life as we Know it – is a highly original card game that draws from his research area of coastal seascapes with Prof Iris Moeller where he is studying the interactions between seagrass and salt marsh systems within the intertidal zone.
