RODEO: Root Dynamics for Ecosystem Observation (2023-2031) is a Research Ireland-Royal Society University Research Fellowship project building new instruments and computer science methods to measure root dynamics and phenology in the field, and using these interpret controls on whole ecosystem greenhouse gas exchange.

SoilSymphony

SoilSymphony  (2025-2029) is a Research Ireland Frontiers for the Future Project where we are investigating how the ‘symphony’ of belowground root and microbial dynamics affect soil respiration.

We are both performing field experiments and working on computer vision methods to process root-soil imagery.
