Wenxin Wang

I hold an MSc in Science and Agricultural Studies, with multidisciplinary research experience. Previously, I studied Solanum stamen diversity at the University of Edinburgh, which deepened my interest in plant evolution and plant-pollinator interactions.

I joined the Discipline of Botany at Trinity College Dublin, The University of Dublin as a PhD student in 2025 under the supervision of Dr. Peter Moonlight. My research focuses on the pollination of Begonia in Colombia, with a particular interest in its evolution and pollination mechanisms, specifically how hummingbirds and buzzing bees interact with Begonia flowers. Understanding these interactions can provide insights into plant evolution, survival strategies, and contribute to the conservation of biodiversity, as well as sustainable crop production.
