Sarah Jane Smith

Sarah Jane was awarded a prestigious Laidlaw Scholarship in 2025 for her research project focused on how grazing can be used to support wildfire resilience and ecosystem health.  Sarah Jane will also investigate how grazing intensity affects the spread of invasive or hazardous species on Howth Head. Her aim is to develop a practical, evidence-based, transferable toolkit which will include a hazardous plant guide, a site assessment method, and a data collection template for managing grazing sites in fire-prone landscapes.
