Mairead O Donnell

Mairéad holds a BSc (Hons) in Environmental and Geographical Sciences from the Technological University of the Shannon and an MSc in Development Practice from Trinity College Dublin, The University of Dublin. Her primary research interests are participatory methods, social-ecological systems, and urban resilience. 

 

She is pursuing a PhD as part of the ERC-funded NovelEco project under the supervision of Dr. Marcus Collier (Discipline of Botany, Trinity). Her work explores co-design and urban rewilding through a social-ecological traits framework. 

 

As a Fulbright-EPA Awardee, Mairéad recently collaborated with the Urban Systems Lab at  

The New School in New York City, conducting in-depth research on the co-design process.  

By working closely with a case study community, she helped design urban wilding guidelines for the North Brooklyn Park Alliance and is developing an urban rewilding framework based on her findings.
