Assistant Professor, School Office - Natural Sciences

Biography

I am a wildlife ecologist and work on novel methods and applications of species distribution modeling, wildlife population modeling, landscape genetics, and other fields to better understand processes behind biodiversity patterns and ultimately inform conservation action. In my research I use a socio-ecological approach that explicitly incorporates anthropogenic systems and influences in the study of wildlife ecology. Prior to Trinity I received my PhD from Michigan State University, spent a few years as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, and worked as a quantitative ecologist at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. In the application of quantitative methods to conservation challenges I am open to and interested in pursuing broad collaborations and interdisciplinary research that incorporates indigenous ways of knowing and traditional ecological knowledge, social science, environmental history, genetics, and other fields.
