Airport Arrivals

International students arriving in Dublin Airport will be met in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Based on the information submitted on the Arrival Form or Change of Travel Form, students will be transported to their accommodation in a service coordinated by Club Travel.
Transport will be by private shared bus with other student travellers or private taxi depending on destination of accommodation.

If students are travelling from a designated states where mandatory hotel quarantine on arrival in Dublin is required, separate arrangements will apply. See here for further details on designated states, mandatory hotel quarantine (which must be pre-booked in advance of travel) and procedures on arrival. Mandatory Hotel Quarantine

Students travelling to Ireland from specific designated states are currently subject to mandatory hotel quarantine. This must be pre-booked in advance of travel. Information on charges for mandatory hotel quarantine are here.

These arrangements apply to any passenger who has been in any of the designated states in the previous 14 days, even if only transiting through one of these countries and even if remaining airside.

These arrangements also apply to any passenger who is travelling on to Northern Ireland.

It is important to note that the list of designated states will be subject to change at short notice and passengers are required to check the list before travelling to Ireland, to be sure of their obligations.

Accommodation and Quarantine

Quarantine Requirements

Students arriving in Ireland may be required to quarantine upon their arrival. This quarantine must be undertaken at the address specified on the government’s COVID-19 Passenger Locator Form.

Quarantine requirements will differ based on:

  • The country you have travelled from or transited through (within EU/EEA, outside of EU/EEA, Emergency Brake countries, Designated States).
  • A Full vaccination status from a recognised vaccine* and proof of vaccination
  • Your recovery from COVID-19 and proof of recovery
  • A negative RT-PCR test result

*You are fully vaccinated when you get a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and it is:

If you have received a vaccine other than those listed above, you are not considered ‘fully vaccinated’.

You should bring proof that you have been fully vaccinated when you travel to Ireland. If you were vaccinated in the EEA you should get an EU Digital COVID Certificate. Other proof that you have been vaccinated can also be accepted.

Quarantine in Trinity Accommodation

For students who require to observe quarantine please note the following:

  • If you are staying in Trinity Accommodation (Main Campus, Goldsmith Hall or Trinity Hall), you will be able to complete your post-arrival quarantine there. Further information will follow on the specific advice for quarantine regulations and supports during this period.
  • If you are staying in Kavanagh Court, you will be able to complete your post-arrival quarantine there. Further information from this Trinity-recommended accommodation provider will follow with specific advice for quarantine regulations and supports during this period.
  • If you are staying in Dominick Place, you will be able to complete your post-arrival quarantine there. Further information from this Trinity-recommended accommodation provider will follow with specific advice for quarantine regulations and supports during this period.
  • If you are staying in private accommodation (i.e. a non-Trinity affiliated residence), you must follow the government guidelines on the quarantine requirements which are available at the Irish government website. If you are staying at a private student accommodation residence, you should enquire in advance about the supports available during quarantine including food provision and likewise if you are staying in private rented accommodation.
