Do you have a lot of writing to get done? Are you struggling to focus? The Postgraduate Writing Retreat offers you protected time and space to focus on your writing, supported by Student Learning Development.
Immerse yourself in focused, productive writing at our PG Summer Writing Retreat, designed to boost your confidence, productivity, and progress. Whether you're tackling a thesis chapter, preparing journal submissions, or refining your research proposal, this retreat offers dedicated quiet time, expert writing support, and a community of like-minded scholars.
The Writing Retreat is a five‑day, in‑person programme including:
- Structured writing time;
- Short, focused workshops;
- One‑to‑one support from SLD staff;
- Peer connection with other postgraduate writers;
- Catered lunch with tea and coffee.
Whilst you will be focusing on your own writing goals, you might find that simply being in the presence of other PGs will help to motivate and support you. All postgraduate students are welcome. You need to have a clearly identified writing project and need to be able to commit to 5 days of in-person attendance. Do note that we have a capacity of 20.
The Postgraduate Summer Writing Retreat is kindly supported by the Graduate Studies Office.
