Write Here, Write Now

Based on a tried and tested format, 'Write Here, Write Now' uses the Pomodoro method of 25 minute writing sessions interspersed with 5 minute breaks for coffee/chatting.

This style of writing support is very successful for students around the world. It can help with getting started, overcoming writer's block and beating procrastination. Sometimes writing can be a lonely experience and groups like this are a great place to meet others in a similar situation. It's a must-try if you are writing and it's not going as well as you'd hoped.

Extra sessions (and drop-in clinic) in April 2026 - in collaboration with disAbility Service and Trinity Library

Supplementary sessions will run online and also in person, taking place in the North Training Room of the Eavan Boland Library. Participants will have the opportunity to avail of individual appointments with the onsite facilitator.

These structured writing group/body doubling sessions are for students to help overcome procrastination, initiate tasks, and sustain focus. These in-person sessions allow students to work alongside others to improve productivity and academic engagement.

Online sessions are hosted using Blackboard Collaborate. No video or audio is necessary to join. You are not required to speak or to be on camera. If you have any questions, a member of the team is always there to support, via chat or audio. The button to join is at the top of this webpage.
