Welcome Freshers!

dduh

Congratulations on obtaining your place with us! Whether you are doing Dental Science, Nursing, Hygiene or Technology, we will be delighted to welcome you here at the Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH), bright and early on Monday 09 September 2019.

We just have a couple of things to mention in advance of you starting.

  • All incoming students must go through Health Screening before they start their Hep B vaccination process.  Tests will be organised by the Dental School, and you will receive your appointment time on your first day.
Please be aware that the cost of these tests is €80 per student, and payable to the GP on the day of your appointment, and you must attend your appointment. Further tests, when required, will incur additional charges.
Without the screening, you can’t have your Hep B vaccinations.
Without your Hep B vaccinations, you can’t continue the course.  Simple!
  • College Orientation begins week commencing 02 September 2019.  You are welcome to attend, and soak up the Trinity atmosphere, and indeed, it might be a good idea to familiarise yourself with the College campus. There is very little dental course related going on that week, as we run our own orientation on Monday 09 September.  Dental Science students, however, will be expected to attend an anatomy introduction during College Orientation week – details of which will soon be on our website and FB page.
  • The College mentoring programme S2S (Student2Student) will be coming in to speak with any new student who would like to attend, on Tuesday 3rd Sept at 5pm – Dental Hospital Common Room.

So, once again, congratulations on getting your place.  If you have any questions, or need any additional information, don’t hesitate to contact us, or pop in, if you are around.
In the meantime, enjoy your last few weeks of your summer break, and we will see you on Monday 09 September.

Top Tip: Don’t be late on your first day. We notice these things!
