TCD Only - Enhancing Research Student Supervision
This half-day in-person seminar, with lunch, will address three important topics: The changing role of the supervisor across the research degree lifespan; Managing expectations through supervision agreements; and Co-supervision: Challenges and opportunities for supervisors and students.
This session is for anyone involved in supervising research students. The aim is to offer opportunities to share good practice and also to network with other supervisors.

Supporting Students with Disabilities through the Supervision Process Speakers: Dr Vivian Rath, Dr Patricia McCarthy, Professor Michael Shevlin & Dr Declan Reilly This workshop will present an insight into the postgraduate research journey from the perspective of two former PhD students with disabilities and their supervisor. Through a three-way conversation it will focus on the stages of the PhD, identifying the barriers and the enablers to student’s success. It will offer information on the disability services available, and attendees will have the opportunity to interact and ask questions. |
