Research Interests

I am a research assistant in the O’Connor lab on the Beyond Biofuel project. My research interests include the effects of climate change stressors on marine communities and developing mitigating measures to combat this. I am interested in how marine ecology research can inform policymaking. In 2021, I graduated from Zoology at TCD under the supervision of Dr. Nessa O’Connor, where I investigated productivity of macroalgae in the Irish Sea. I completed my M.Sc. degree in Global Change: Ecosystem Science and Policy at University College Dublin in 2022. Under the supervision of Dr. Grace Cott and Dr. Florence Renou-Wilson, my thesis investigated the implementation of blue carbon ecosystem policies in Ireland and the UK. I carried out an internship with the Policy Innovation and Research Support (PIRS) department at the Marine Institute, Co. Galway, which helped shape my interest in bridging gaps at the science-policy interface.
