Research Interests

With a passion for ecology, marine biology and conservation, I have a keen interest in ways in which society can co-exist with nature in a sustainable, mutually beneficial manner, so that communities can prosper economically while protecting and enhancing their environment ecologically. My research interest lies in ecological interactions within the marine environment, and my research focuses on macroalgal cultivation systems, how they may be used to further understand marine ecological processes, and the potential environmental impacts of macroalgal cultivation. My PhD research is part of the SFI funded project; Beyond Biofuel: Advanced seaweed cultivation for marine biodiscovery and climate change mitigation.
