Research interests

I am a macroecologist and biogeographer interested in spatial and temporal patterns of biodiversity, particularly functional diversity, and the mechanisms underlying these patterns. I am interested in fundamental ecological patterns and processes and have studied these across multiple taxa and systems including birds, plants and soil organisms. I am currently working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on an Irish Research Council funded project investigating the contribution of commonness and rarity to spatial patterns of functional diversity.
