Where is The Zoological Museum?

The museum is located on the campus of Trinity College Dublin. The museum is on the first floor of the Zoology Building, located here

Is there an entrance fee?

There is a charge of 4 euro for adults, 2 euro for children and 3 euro for groups of 8 or more.

Is there a student or senior discount?

Unfortunately there is no discount for students or seniors.

Do I have to book?

During June to August the museum is open to the public, no need to book, just come along on the day!

What are your opening hours?

The museum is open everyday from June to August from 10.30-16.00.

Is the museum wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately the museum is not wheelchair accessible at the moment.

What should I expect when coming to the museum?

A unique, interactive experience for all ages !

Can I take photos?

Yes! Photography is encouraged!

Do you do workshops for schools and groups?

Yes, we have a workshop on Skulls and Skeletons suitable for various ages. Please email mlinnie@tcd.ie for booking enquiries.

Are there specific tours or is it self-guided?

Our museum guides are recent zoology graduates and are on hand to answer questions and show you some amazing museum specimens. There are no specific tours but these can be arranged on request.

How long does a visit take?

Depends on you! Generally visitors spend around 45 minutes here

Is there anything I can hold in the museum?

Lots! Skulls, dinosaur material, shark jaws, elephant teeth and maybe..... live animals!

What ages is the museum suitable for?

All ages.... very young to not so young

Can I get a combination ticket for the Book of Kells?

Unfortunately at the moment we do not offer combination tickets for other museums or tours on campus.

Do you take debit or credit card payments?

Yes, we accept debit cards and cash.
