BESS Regulations

Details regarding important BESS regulations are outlined below and in the BESS Handbook. For details regarding general College Regulations please see the College Calendar.

Degree Path/Module Choices

BESS is a programme which offers a choice of up to ten degree paths. It is very important that students are aware of the regulations in relation to modules choices and degree path.

Within these degree pathways the BESS programme also offers a range of module choices for students in order for them to attain their 60 ECTS. Once students have selected their degree pathway in the Senior Fresh year they do not have the option to change degree pathways. In some circumstances, through strategic module choice selection, there can be two degree pathways open to students.

Once the decision has been finalised in Junior Sophister. based on their module choice.s there is no further ability to change. The reason for this is that each degree pathway requires the student to take required modules to fulfil the requirements of that degree. BESS does offer a lot of choice within modules each year but unfortunately it is not possible to gain a degree without the required modules. In some cases students can opt to repeat the year (remember the fee issue though) if they really wish to change their degree pathway.

Transfers into BESS

Due to the popularity of the BESS programme it is very hard to transfer into BESS. The programme is normally oversubscribed so that space is not available for transfer students. Information regulations governing transfers are available on the following links:
