Ethics

The Ethics Policy of the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy was approved at the Executive Committee meeting of 30 September 2010, with immediate effect.

• The Ethics Policy (PDF, 137kB) - outlines the School's policy regarding research ethics and the procedures for obtaining ethical approval.
• The Research Ethics Checklist (MS Word, 51kB) - is to be completed by all staff and postgraduate students undertaking research, irrespective of the involvement of ethical issues.
• The Application for a Certificate of Ethical Approval (MS Word, 48kB) - is to be completed by those who require explicit ethical approval for their research.

Once completed and signed, a hard-copy of all documentation should be sent to the School Administrator, Olive Donnelly, School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, Arts Building, College, and an e-mail copy should be sent to donnello@tcd.ie.
